Events

Scholarly conversation across years, continents, and traditions.

SAGP events bring scholars together to present research, test developing ideas, honor distinguished work, and continue a conversation that began more than seventy years ago.

Conversation, not simply presentation

SAGP events are designed around intellectual exchange. Annual conference sessions bring multiple scholars into conversation around shared themes. Distinguished Lectures include commentary and discussion. Works in Progress sessions invite feedback while research is still developing.

Across these formats, the Society expresses one of its central commitments: scholarship flourishes through careful argument, generous criticism, and sustained dialogue.

International by design

Many SAGP events are held online or made accessible to scholars across time zones. This reflects the Society’s outward-looking character and its commitment to supporting a global community of scholars in Ancient Greek philosophy.

The Society’s events are not isolated announcements. They are recurring expressions of its scholarly life.
