Why become a member?
Membership connects you to one of the largest scholarly communities devoted specifically to Ancient Greek philosophy. SAGP currently maintains a mailing list of approximately 1,500 people and continues to grow both nationally and internationally.
Members support and participate in the Society’s scholarly life, including the Annual Conference, Distinguished Lectureship, Works in Progress series, and SAGP-sponsored panels at meetings of other associations.
Membership is not simply a transaction. It is an invitation into a conversation that has continued since 1953.

Mentorship and participation
SAGP especially encourages junior and mid-career scholars to present their work and become part of the Society’s scholarly life.
How membership works
SAGP annual dues are established and periodically reassessed by the President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Board of Directors.
Each membership year begins on September 1 and ends on August 31. Membership may be paid for one, three, or five years.
Current membership is only $10 per year. Membership is required for attendance at SAGP conferences and events.
Become a member
To become a SAGP member, download the membership form, choose a one-year, three-year, or five-year membership, and submit payment either by check or by credit card.
