About SAGP Membership

  • SAGP membership is open to all scholars and students of Ancient Greek philosophy. Currently, SAGP has a mailing list of approximately 1500 persons and thus is the largest association of specialists in Ancient Greek Philosophy in the world. We aim to expand the membership of SAGP and make SAGP increasingly more prominent both nationally and internationally.
  • SAGP annual dues are established and periodically reassessed by the President, the Secretary, the Assistant Secretary, and the other members of the Board of Directors. Dues are paid electronically or by check. They can be paid every one, three, or five years.  Each membership year begins on September 1st and ends on August 31. 
  • Members choose their assignment or are assigned to one of the following constituencies:  APA Eastern Division; APA Central Division; APA Pacific Division;  Society of Classical Studies (SCS); Canada; Central and South America; continental Europe; UK; Australasia and Africa.
  • Currently, membership is only $10!  With a $10 membership, you’ll receive pdfs of the SAGP Newsletter via email. If you prefer, you may choose the $20 membership for which you’ll receive hard copies of the SAGP Newsletter via US mail.

How to Become a SAGP Member

  1. Download this form: SAGP Membership Form
  2. Fill out the form. Select either “Electronic pdf” for $10 per year if you’d like to receive pdfs of SAGP Newsletters along with your membership, or “Hard Copy” for $20 per year if you’d like to receive hard copies of SAGP Newsletters.
  3. If paying by check, print out the form you downloaded and send it along with a check to the address on the form via US mail.
  4. If paying by credit card, fill out the top part of this form, email it to Tony Preus, and Pay Here
